Keith McDougall

October 22, 1955 - August 19, 2016

Keith John McDougall, 60, of Fargo passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2016. Keith was born on October 22, 1955 to Neil and Valeria (Veit) McDougall in Breckenridge, MN. Keith grew up on the family farm in Antelope Township, Richland County with his four brothers and three sisters. He attended Antelope Township School for first grade, then went onto Wyndmere Public School through 8th grade. The family moved to Fargo the summer of 1969. Keith attended Fargo Shanley High School where he played basketball and Fargo Legion baseball. He graduated from Shanley in 1973. After high school, he attended UND where he met the love of his life, LuAnn Holm. They were married on May 21st, 1983 and had two children, Mollie and Jacob.

Keith spent over 30 years in the car business, most of which with Corwin Automotive Group. At the time of his passing, he had his own business, Keith McDougall Consulting. Keith took great pride in his children and was very active in their sporting activities both as a coach and spectator. Most recently, his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren grow. Keith enjoyed golfing, relaxing with a “Tangueray tonic, with olives and a lime; short” and a cigar at the lake and spending time with his family and friends.

An avid sports fan, he was a supporter of Bison athletics and a fan of Twins baseball and Sioux hockey. Keith was active in Babe Ruth baseball, church league basketball and the Christmas Gift style show.

Keith is survived by his wife, LuAnn; children Mollie (Matt) Perkins and Jake, grandchildren Mason and Haley Perkins; his three sisters, MaryBeth (Gary) Fox, Marlys (Paul) Dotzenrod, Barb (Paul) Geier; four brothers David (Rosemary), James (Mary Maruska), Kent (Margie) and Alan; mother-in-law Joyce (Keith) Junge; brother-in-law David (Sue) Holm; sister-in-law Jenny (Mike) Berg; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Eugene Holm and nephew, Chris McDougall.

Keith’s zest for life and unparalleled optimism will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Memorials are preferred to the Christmas Gift foundation; PO Box 11456, Fargo, ND 58106.

Smart man that Keith was he simply turned his charm and winning smile to my wife Kim to get the deal done! That pretty much neutralized any arguments against a Honda! Keith was fun to deal with…a smart and intelligent character and I know that the entire McDougall family has many wonderful memories.

I was Lucky later in Life, to have Alan as my Babe Ruth Baseball Head Coach – – Learn allot from that Wily Old Baseball Veteran…God Be with All The McDougall’s and especially, Keith – – You’re on God’s Team Now !
