Kermit S. Johnson, 98, Fargo, formerly of Kindred, North Dakota, died Sunday, December 16, 2007, at Elim Care Center. Kermit S. Johnson was born November 11, 1909 in Kindred, ND. He grew up in the Kindred area. Kermit was united in marriage to Ovidia T. Johnson on March 17, 1940. He was a life-long member of West Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Kindred. Kermit and Ovidia Lived in the Kindred area and farmed the land nearly their entire lives. Kermit was well known for his potato business, which he operated right on the farmstead. Kermit and Ovidia moved off the farm in late 2000. They eventually settled in Elim Care Center where Ovidia resided until she passed away on August 29, 2002. Kermit spent the remainder of his days socializing in the Elim community, with the residents as well as the pets. He loved animals and they loved him. Kermit is survived by three grandchildren; David (Kelli) Jacobson, Fargo, Tanya (Eladio) Martinez, West Fargo, Diana (Robert) May, Colfax, ND, daughter-in-law, Jean Johnson , West Fargo, great-grandchildren, Kayla and Sara Jacobson, Wesley Gad, Jordan and Madeline Martinez, great-great grandson, Kyrell Jacobson. A brother, Ernest ?Ernie? (Elaine) Johnson, Hankinson, ND and two sisters, Claire Johnson Nordland, Yakima, WA and Crystal (Roy) Johnson Herald, Escondido, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Jerry, his parents and 10 siblings. Rev. Norman Thomsen will officiate at the funeral service which will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., December 20th in Elim Care Center Chapel, Fargo. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Rev. Norman Thomsen will officiate at the Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. in Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred. Arrangements by Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred.
