Larry D. Coons, 55, Argusville, ND passed away at his home on Saturday, May 20, 2006 after waging a courageous battle with cancer for the past year and a half. Larry Coons was born to John R. and Mary Ann Vigen Coons at St. Michael?s Hospital, Grand Forks, ND on January 17, 1951. He grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1970. After graduation Larry worked for a time before serving in the Army in Viet Nam. He received the bronze service star for meritorious service to his country. After leaving the Army he returned to East Grand Forks where he worked for Vigen Construction. He then moved to Moorhead where he worked for Bausch and Lomb. For the last eight years Larry had worked at N.D.S.U. and was currently employed there. Larry D. Coons and Linda Bakken were married in East Grand Forks at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church on December 16, 1972. Larry loved his family. His favorite pastimes were fishing, and hunting with his family. He treasured his relationships with family and friends. He enjoyed driving his truck and listening to country western music.. Larry was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church and a member of the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Linda, Argusville, ND; children, Renae (Ron) Huelsnitz, Janesville, MN; Ryan (Samantha) Coons, Warroad, MN; father, John Coons, East Grand Forks, MN; sisters, Peggy (Richard) Bares, Grand Forks, ND; Beverly (Keith) Fowler, Grand Forks, ND; Debbie (Duane) Jungels, Grand Forks, ND; Carol (Greg) Schellert, St. Louis, MO; brothers, Robert Coons, Grand Forks, ND; Tim (Bobbie) Coons, Thompson, ND; Roger (Judee) Coons, Grand Forks, ND; granddaughter, Bethany Coons, Warroad, MN; father and mother ?in-law Buck (Leona) Bakken, East Grand Forks, MN; brothers-in-law, Bruce (Linda) Bakken, East Grand Forks, MN; Glenn Bakken, Warren, MN; Wayne (Jan) Bakken, East Grand Fork, MN; Michael (Rae) Bakken, Crookston, MN; Keith (Mary) Bakken, St. Paul, MN; many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church North Campus, Fargo. There will be a visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the church with a Prayer Service in the church at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Memorial Park, Grand Forks, ND.
