Laurie Larson, 68, Fargo, ND passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Laurie K. Anderson was born on November 28, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the first child of Catherine M. Anderson and Ernest G. Anderson.  The family moved to Fargo in Laurie's childhood and Laurie attended Shanley High School and graduated from Fargo Central High School.  She attended Interstate Business College and spent several working as a food service staff member at North Dakota State University. 

In August 26, 1977 Laurie and her loving husband Gene L. Larson were married at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fargo.  They made their home in north Fargo and moved into Laurie's childhood home in 1997.  Laurie had a strong faith and great love for her family, beautiful things and small dogs.  She was devoted to Gene, who played the central role in Laurie's complicated health care over many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Paul Anderson (Linda), Rockford, MN, and Daniel Anderson (Janna), Elon, NC; one sister, Mary Joan Synstelien (Larry), Chanhassen, MN; five nephews, Tyler Anderson and Alec, Justin, Brady and Garrett Synstelien; and one niece, Kacie Anderson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest G. and Catherine M. Anderson, who she loved dearly.

Laurie's family wishes to express their deep thanks to all those who have shown her kindness and assisted in her care, especially the many healthcare professionals who came to know her, made her comfortable, and helped her deal with her medical challenges.

    I am so sorry about Laurie’s death. I really wish I could have made it to the funeral but the weather was a problem. I have many fond memories of Laurie as we were growing up and when I came to Fargo for visits. You are in our thoughts and prayers. All our love.
