Lawrence passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2005, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo at the age of 63. Lawrence was born on September 15, 1941, in Breckenridge, MN, the son of Lawrence and Margaret (Pelzl) Fettes. He grew up near Mantador, ND, and moved to Fargo with his family at an early age. He attended school at St. Mary?s in Fargo, later Shanley High School, and finally at Richardton Abbey. After his schooling, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Larry was united in marriage to Pauline DuBord on June 21, 1969, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo. They made their home in Fargo where he worked for Fettes Moving. Together they later moved to Wahpeton, ND, where he continued working for the Fettes Company. In 1982, they moved back to Fargo where Larry began working for National Van Lines. He continued working until his health prevented him in 2002. Larry is survived by his wife, Pauline of Fargo; his children, Brian Fettes of Fargo and Jean (Matthew) Stroh of Palmyra, WI; his mother, Margaret Fettes of Butte, MT; his grandchildren, Jacob, Kayla, and Lauren; and his brothers and sisters, Gary (Sharon) Fettes of MN; Margie (Joe) Prenosil of Coon Rapids, MN; Allen Fettes of Greeley, CO; and Marlys (David) Bald of Butte, MT. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; and his brothers, Patrick and William.
