Obituary

Lena Gilson, 94, Fargo, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Sanford Health Palliative Care.

Lena was born April 30, 1918 in Linton, North Dakota to Joseph and Barbara (Glatt) Bosch.  She grew up in Linton, where she graduated from high school in 1936.  She worked as a waitress and variety shop clerk in Linton.  She moved to Portland, Oregon where she worked for Kaiser Shipping for 3 years.  Lena moved to Oakland, California and worked for Montgomery Ward for 2 years.  On May 30, 1946 she married William Gilson in Pawaska, Oklahoma.  They moved to Fargo in October 1946 and have lived here since.

Lena loved selling antiques at shows and at Shady Hollow Flea Market in Detroit Lakes.  Lena and William were charter members of Holy Spirit and were very active in church activities.

Lena is survived by Michael (Shelly) Gilson, Detroit Lakes, Barbara (John Olson) Gilson, Hawley; grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Jon Michael Gilson; great-grandchild, Payton Michael Gilson; and brother, August Bosch, Fargo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

An angel on earth is now an angel in heaven.

    My love and caring thoughts are with you and your family as you say good bye to your Mother. My Mom passed away this past summer also and even tho we know it’s expected, we’ll still love and miss them.
