Leo Thomas Kelsh, 83, of Fargo, ND, formerly Fullerton, ND, passed away after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease Sept. 16, 2016, at Villa Marie Nursing Home, Fargo. Leo was born Feb. 25, 1933, in LaMoure, ND. He was the middle child, son of George and Freda Kelsh. He was raised on a farm in Fullerton with his four brothers. He graduated from Fullerton Public School in 1954. He was a member of the Oakes National Guard, 141st Engineer Battalion until 1956. He married Virginia (Bosch) Kelsh May 30, 1959, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Berlin, N.D. Leo and his wife farmed in Fullerton where they raised four children. They retired to Fargo in 1994. Leo loved to farm, even in his last six years at Villa Maria he talked regularly about raising pigs, taking care of the cows and tending to the fields. Leo is survived by his wife, Virginia; their four children Todd (Giselle) Kelsh, Clearwater, FL, Lisa (Michelle Timmers) Kelsh, St. Paul, MN; Kelly (Jamie) Kelsh, Abilene, TX, Teri (Larry Kemp) Kelsh, Minneapolis, MN; three grandchildren Chris, Dickinson, ND, Noah and Samantha, Abilene; two brothers, John (Stephanie) Kelsh, Winter Springs, FL, Jerry (Mona) Kelsh, Fullerton. Leo was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers George Kelsh and Tim Kelsh. A prayer service for Leo will be held 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19, at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo. His funeral will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Nativity Church of Fargo. He will be buried in Fullerton, ND.
