Leon Cossette

Leon J. Cossette, 83, Fargo, ND passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo. Leon Cossette was born on April 18, 1936 in Horace, ND to Priscilla Bernadette (LaPointe) and Joseph Raymond Cossette. He attended school at St. Benedict’s in Wild Rice, ND. He loved farming and during his early life worked various farming jobs in the Wild Rice area. In 1957 he moved to Fargo, ND and worked for Northern Improvement for approximately seven years. He also worked for Schultz and Lindsey for seven years before beginning to work for the City of Fargo. He retired in March of 1998 and had been employed on a part-time basis until 2008 when he proudly retired after 35 years of employment. He was a member of the Moose Lodge from 1971-2000 and enjoyed craft painting, raising birds, and working on cars. Leon will be remembered for his love of life and sense of humor despite many hardships faced. He is survived by his siblings: Isabelle Sturm, Woodbury, MN, Joseph Cossette, Fargo, ND. He is preceded by his parents and brothers, Reynold Cossette, Dennis Cossette and Orel Cossette and sister, Lucille Maki. Prayer Service: 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Boulger Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with visitation starting at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Mass: 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 2, 2019 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Wild Rice, ND. Burial: St. Benedict’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Wild Rice, ND immediately following the funeral mass.
