Leota Leintz passed away on Monday, September 7th in the Crosshaven Unit at Riverview Place in Fargo, under the care of CHI hospice, surrounded by her children. Leota Curtis Strong was born on December 4, 1926 to Susie Melissa (Berry) Strong and Sidney Joseph Strong. She grew up and attended school in Bowdon, ND. After graduation she attended business college in Fargo and then worked as a bookkeeper in Harvey where she met her future husband, Henry (Hank) Leintz. They moved to Fargo in 1956, where they raised their family. Leota and Hank were charter members of Nativity Church and were very active in their parish for many years. Leota ‘s calling and gift was motherhood. In addition to her own six children, Leota was a loving foster mother to many infants awaiting adoption. Leota and Hank celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary shortly before his death in September 2017. Leota was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, by her husband Hank, and by her son-in-law, Don Smith. She is survived by her children: James in Scottsdale AZ, JoEllen in Rochert MN, Janet (Bruce) Johnson in Aberdeen SD, Jeff (Beth) in Olathe, KS, Jon (Laura) in St. Cloud, MN and Paul (Leslie) in Fargo, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic a small private family funeral Mass will be held. A celebration of life will be planned for summer of 2021. Memorials may be sent to CHI Hospice and Home Care or Riverview Place.

  8. Dear family members. Aunt Leota was special to the Larry Bertsch family. My husband Larry (passed 2014) loved her kindness, consideration and joyfulness. I head not heard from her recently so I searched to see if she was ok. I am so sorry Leota passed. A great lady. She will b missed. My condolences and prayers to the family.
