Leota Gallagher Pancratz,86, died on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN.

Leota was born in Fargo, North Dakota, on September 10, 1921, the only child of Frances and Leo Gallagher. She attended St. Anthony?s Grade School and Fargo Central High School, graduating in 1939. After a year at North Dakota Agricultural College, she attended St. John?s School Of Nursing. Leota was a First Lieutenant serving as a nurse after WWII in Japan.

In 1946 Leota married Paul K. Pancratz, her childhood sweetheart. They lived briefly in New Kensington, PA, before moving back to North Dakota where Paul attended Law School at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. For several years they lived in Bismarck and then moved to Fargo in 1954 where Paul practiced law until his death in 1986. Leota has lived in Eventide Catered Living and Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead for the past six years.

Leota was active in Holy Spirit Parish in North Fargo. She was a member of the Fargo Fine Arts Club, and attended the Presentation Sister?s Prayer Center. Leota and Paul spent numerous summers at their Little Pine Lake cottage in Minnesota, and traveled around the world. She loved reading and spending time with her family.

Leota is survived by her children: Laura Isensee, Eden Prairie, MN; Lyn Reis (Dick), Fargo, ND; Leslie Pancratz (Michael Hayman), Louisville, KY; Mark Pancratz (Linda), Edwards, CO.; Gregory Pancratz, Fargo, ND. . She is also survived by six grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the Eventide staff for the years of kindness and care.

Visitation is from 3 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo, ND
and in the church 1 hour before the service on Monday

Rosary followed by Prayer Service 4:00 p.m., on Sunday at the Church

Funeral at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo, ND

Burial at Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo, ND
