Lloyd ?Bill? Griesbach, 89, Grandin, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008.
Lloyd Clarence Griesbach was born on October 9, 1918 on the family farm in Bohnsack Township, Traill County, ND to Conrad and Clara (Fleischer) Griesbach. He grew up in the Hunter area and attended Bohnsack School. He was baptized, confirmed and a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church, Grandin, ND. Lloyd Griesbach and Vallie Marie Dahlin of Page, ND were married on November 16, 1962. He farmed in the Hunter-Grandin area until 1982. Upon his retirement Lloyd spent his time at auction sales, gardening, making beer and wine, and spending time with his grandsons.
Lloyd is survived by his 3 children, Anna Griesbach, Kansas City, MO; Conray (Charlet) Griesbach, Hunter, ND; and Sarah (Shane) Leverenz, Rocklin, CA; 4 grand sons, Craig Griesbach, currently serving with the 119th Wing Air National Guard, Sather Air Force Base, Iraq; Chase Griesbach, Hunter, ND; Eric and Austin Leverenz, Rocklin, CA; 1 brother, Kenneth (Marilyn) Griesbach, West Fargo; 3 sisters, Esther (Donald) Kellerman, West Fargo, ND; Leona (David) Boisljolie, Fargo, ND; Lorna (Douglas) Lawyer, Grand Junction, CO; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vallie; parents, Conrad and Clara; brothers, Verner, Harold, Robert, and George; and his sister, Erna Borud.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Lutheran Church, Grandin, ND. There will be a Prayer Service in The Wildeman Chapel, Hillsboro, ND at 7:00 p.m. Monday. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home and one hour before the funeral in the church. Burial will be in the Hunter, ND cemetery.
