Lloyd Weller

Lloyd Weller, 87, Hillsboro, formerly of Grandin, passed away at the Hillsboro Hospital on Thursday, December 7, 2006. Lloyd Weller was born on the banks of the Red River on the family farm near Grandin, ND on November 25, 1919. He was raised by John and Annie Weller, baptized on May 25, 1920 and was later confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, Grandin, ND. Lloyd started farming as a young boy and continued farming while he attended school near Grandin. He ran the family farm after finishing school. Lloyd Weller and Pearl Rudrud were united in marriage on August 3, 1942. They made their home near Grandin where they farmed. Lloyd was also employed at R.F. Gunkleman & Sons for most of his working life. They later moved in to Grandin and finally to Hillsboro in 1999 where they retired. Lloyd served on the Grandin School Board, the Grandin Co-op Board, the Church Council of Grace Lutheran Church, and was Supt. of Sunday School at Grace Lutheran Church. He was currently an active member of Our Savior?s Lutheran Church, Hillsboro. He loved hunting with his sons and grandsons. His family always came first and he enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He prized honesty and integrity and his handshake was his bond. Lloyd is survived by his: children, Karen (Jerry) Alfson of Hillsboro; Keith (Kathy) Weller of Bismarck, North Dakota; and Kevin (Colleen) Weller of Grandin; his grandchildren, Tamara Alfson, Kristin (James) Lee, Jay (Wendy)Alfson, Jena Weller, and Daniel Weller; his great grandchildren, Briar, Abigail, Kelsey, Alex, Kyle, and Mallory. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Omer Carroll (Jackie) Rudrud of Bedford, Virginia.
