Obituary

Lois passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Edgewood Vista in Fargo at the age of 89.

Lois Leone Rasmusen was born on March 25, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Maus) Rasmusen near Havana, ND. Lois grew up near Havana where she graduated high school. She moved to Fargo where she attended Fargo Business College. Lois was united in marriage to Albert “Prince” Kundert on May 4, 1946 in Moorhead, MN. Together they made their home in Fargo for many years. Prince died on March 25, 1981.

Lois began her working career in the early 1940’s at the Fargo Airport Managers Office. She continued for many years working for the commander of the North Dakota National Air Guard 119th Fighter Wing. She also had a long time presence as a volunteer at the Hector International Airport’s information center.

Lois is survived by her stepson, Charles Kundert of Tacoma, WA; her step grandsons, Kevin and Kraig Kundert; her brother in law, Alvin “Bud” Kundert of Hawley, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Prince; her brother, Charles Rasmusen; her sister, Bernice Rasmusen; her step daughter in law, JoAnn Kundert; her sisters in law, Esther Kundert, Frieda Kundert, and Lillian (Kundert) Larson; and her brothers in law, Woodrow Kundert and Del Kundert.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials directed to Messiah Lutheran Church or to the Fargo Air Museum.

Biloxi MSSorry to hear of your loss. We met Lois’s mother, Lillian Maus, who is my mothers sister, “Sophia Maus Towne” once while she was visiting in Fl. I understand that another cousin still ownes the Maus farm in Havana. Would like to have more information from some one about the farm, just to keep in touch. We also have a cousin Elaine Maus Holt who lives in Daytona Beach Fl.
