Lois Spidahl

Lois A. Spidahl, West Fargo, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Manor Healthcare in Fargo. Lois A. Gjevre was born on March 4, 1931 in Fargo. She grew up in Starkweather, North Dakota where she attended school and graduated as Valedictorian in 1949. She then attended Minot State Teacher?s College, after which she taught at the Royal Township School, rural Starkweather, ND. Lois A. Gjevre and Benjamin Spidahl Jr., were married in Minot, ND, on January 21, 1950. They lived in Minot until 1952 when they moved to New Town, ND, where she was a homemaker until she and her husband opened and operated the Skogmo Store. In 1964 they moved to Parshall where they operated the Gamble Skogmo Store until 1972. They then moved to New Rockford, ND, where Lois worked for the Super Valu Store until retiring in 1997. They came to West Fargo in 1997. Bennie preceded her in death in December of 2002. She is survived by her children, Margo (Jerry)Thiel, Cody, WY, Keith (Sandra) Spidahl, Fargo, and Rodney ?Rod? Spidahl, Issaquah, WA; four grandchildren, Heather and Korre Spidahl, and Melissa Payton and Kip Thiel; three great grandchildren, Jerri Thiel, and Benjamin and Edward Payton; sisters, JoAnn (LeRoy) Toso, Sr., Starkweather, ND, and Judy (Roland) Nygaard, Starkweather, ND; and brother, Gary Gjevre, Devils, Lake, ND. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jeremy Thiel.
