Obituary

Loretta M. Ziegler, 86, died on September 16, 2008 at the Villa Maria in Fargo, ND surrounded by her family.

Loretta was born on November 18, 1921 in St. Louis Park, MN to Jessie and Jake Johnson. Raised and educated in St. Louis Park and graduated from high school in 1938. She married John Ziegler on November 25, 1939.

For many years they raised their 8 children in Hopkins, Medicine Lake, Benson, Litchfield, MN and Centerville, Indiana and enjoyed traveling coast to coast to see children and grandchildren. They moved to Hemet, CA where they lived for a number of years, then moving to Whitewater, MT in 1995 where they made their home for 13 years. In 1999 she lost her soul mate who is buried in Fork?s Cemetery in Whitewater. In 2006 she moved to Kindred, ND, where she spent two years being close to family.

Her joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to bake, play cards, embroidery, and her home was always opened to whoever came to see her. Her kindness, compassion and love are memories we will hold in our hearts forever.

She is survived her daughters, Gail (Jim) Sorensen of Mora, MN, Judy Doble of Minnepolis, MN, Mary Lageson of Kindred, ND, Pam (Dave) Simmons of Yankton, SD, sons Larry (Bonnie) Ziegler of Benson, MN, Jerry Ziegler of Hilgers, MT, David Ziegler of Chile, John Ziegler of Santa Barbara, CA; sister Beverly Buck of Minneapolis, MN, sister-in-laws Joan Johnson of Minneapolis, MN and Marion Ziegler of Shakopee, MN, 23 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

She is proceded in death by her parents; husband John, brothers Kenny, Lloyd, and Sidney, sisters Vivain and Adalade; and grandchild, Melissa Weigel.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
