Lorrayne M. McGuire, 92, Fargo, ND passed away Monday, June 13, 2017 at Riverview Place in Fargo. Lorrayne Marie McGuire was born to Flora and Hattie DeMars on October 2, 1924 in Staples, MN. She grew up in Staples, MN and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and was a cheerleader all through her high school years. After high school she was a teletype operator for the FBI in Washington DC. But her love of family brought her back to Staples, MN a year later. During war time Lorrayne was Rosie the Riveter. She married Glenn C. McGuire August 26, 1945. Lorrayne moved to New London, CT where her husband Glenn was in the submarine service for the Navy. While in New London, CT Lorrayne gave birth to their daughter Linda born October 9, 1946. The family then moved to Key West, Florida. After the service Lorrayne, Glenn & Linda moved to Sioux Falls, SD then to Rosemount, MN and finally to Fish Trap Lake in Lincoln, MN for the summer and Brownsville, TX in the winter where they enjoyed their retirement years. Glenn passed away April 29, 2005. Lorrayne then made her home at Riverview Place in Fargo, ND where she lived the remainder of her life. Lorrayne had many hobbies. She loved playing the keyboard, she enjoyed sewing & knitting. But most of all she loved spending her time helping family members in need and spending time with family & friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother & great-grandmother and Aunt Rainy to many. She is survived by her daughter Linda (David) Appling of East Grand Forks, MN; her grandchildren Dawn (Brian), John (Brittany), Mike (Janna) and great-grandchildren Calista, Mikayla and Lennon Rose. Lorrayne was preceded in death by her parents, 3 siblings and husband Glenn C. McGuire. The family would like to commend the staff of Riverview Place, CHI Hospice and Home Instead Assisted Living for the wonderful care she received.
