LouAnn Olien

LouAnn Olien, 75, of Fargo died after a fourth courageous battle with cancer on Monday August 8, 2016 at Elim Care Center in Fargo, with the support of family and under the care of hospice. LouAnn Roselyn Wolbeck was born April 8, 1941 in Mahnomen, MN to Hubert and Luddie (Nedved) Wolbeck. She was raised on the family farm in Mahnomen, MN. LouAnn attended school in Mahnomen along with her three sisters and one brother. After spending a number of years working at Camelot Cleaners, she retired and worked part-time at the central kitchen for Fargo Public School District. LouAnn and Al Olien were married on December 1, 1962 at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Mahnomen, MN. They made their home in Fargo, ND where they raised their two children, Kathy (Olien) Lehman and Bryan Olien. LouAnn was an avid reader, yard sale shopper, and a wonderful grandma to her three grandchildren. She was always their number one fan and enjoyed their many games and events throughout the years. She spent many weekends at their lake cabin enjoying fishing and relaxing with family and friends. LouAnn is survived by her husband of 53 years Al, daughter Kathy Lehman, son Bryan and his wife Christine (Simonson), three grandchildren (Austin Olien, Cheyenne Olien, and Madison Olien). Also surviving are sisters Bernice Voit and Joan Safar (Joe), and brother James Wolbeck, and a number of nieces and nephews. LouAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Luddie Wolbeck, two sisters, Luddie Janusch and Judith Wolbeck, her sister-in- law Lorraine Olien, and four brothers-in-law Ervin Voit, Jim Janusch, Robert Olien, and George Olien. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center. The memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 11, at Nativity Catholic Church in Fargo.
