Lucinda Lou Andersen, 69, formerly Fargo, Nevis, MN, passed away August 3, 2012 at Heritage Living Center, Park Rapids, Mn.

Lucinda Lou Folwick was born December 27, 1942 in Fargo, ND to Melvin and Martha “Birdie” Folwick.  Lucinda grew up in Fargo, ND and attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic grade school and graduated from Shanley High School in 1960.

Lucinda attended Professional Business Institute in Minneapolis, MN and earned her degree as a Dental Hygienist.  She worked in the dental offices of Dr. Brown in Fargo.

Lucinda married Russell (Curt) Andersen on August 24, 1963 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo, ND.  They moved to Bismarck, ND in 1975, where Lucinda worked at the Wood N’ Knot Shop before going to work as one of the initial employees of Dayton’s Department Store until her retirement.

Lucinda enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her friends. She loved animals and had several pets throughout her life. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, baking and loved to travel and explore new places. She volunteered at her church and her daughter’s school.  She supported her children throughout their schooling by attending numerous sporting events and band and choir concerts. A highlight for Lucinda was when she and Russell chaperoned the St. Mary’s Central High School (Bismarck, ND) band tour to California.  . 

Lucinda and Russell retired to a home on Lake Belle Taine near Nevis, MN. Lucinda’s greatest joy was her granddaughter, Kennedy; she cherished spending time with her and watching her grow up.

Lucinda is survived by her husband Russell (Curt). Nevis, MN; daughter, Lizabeth, Fargo, ND, daughter LeAnn (Mike) Hunke and granddaughter Kennedy, Glenwood, MD.  She is also survived by her sister Sheridon  (Dave) Lewis, Sabin, MN and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

    I was very sorry to hear about Lou passing. The last few years must been terribly difficult for all of you with her illness.
    Lou was a very gracious lady and I enjoyed visiting with her at Basin gatherings.
    Take care of yourself, I cannot even imagine how all of you are coping, but now you know Lou is free of the terrible disease she suffered from.
    You were all blessed to have her in your lives.

    My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have such fond memories of Lou, you Curt and the girls, babysitting the girls, all the Holidays we spent together. My heart breaks for you all and I can’t imagine the pain you are going through at this time, but just remember, Lou will continue to watch over each and everyone of you.
    I am sorry I will be unable to get up there for the funeral and to see you all, but please know I am thinking of each of you and praying that God gives you the peace and strength to get through this difficult time.

    Dear Russ and Family
    So Sorry to hear about Lou. I want you to know how sad I feel about your loss. I can’t know your personal greif about her death, but I can tell you from my experience it hurts a bunch.
    I always liked Lou and I know my Bette enjoyed visiting with her at the Knot shop over the years.
    Hard to believe she is gone, but the good news is you were able to spend many years together doing a lot of things you enjoyed.
    My prayers for strrength are with you this day.
