Obituary

Lucinda Lou Andersen, 69, formerly Fargo, Nevis, MN, passed away August 3, 2012 at Heritage Living Center, Park Rapids, Mn.

Lucinda Lou Folwick was born December 27, 1942 in Fargo, ND to Melvin and Martha “Birdie” Folwick.  Lucinda grew up in Fargo, ND and attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic grade school and graduated from Shanley High School in 1960.

Lucinda attended Professional Business Institute in Minneapolis, MN and earned her degree as a Dental Hygienist.  She worked in the dental offices of Dr. Brown in Fargo.

Lucinda married Russell (Curt) Andersen on August 24, 1963 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo, ND.  They moved to Bismarck, ND in 1975, where Lucinda worked at the Wood N’ Knot Shop before going to work as one of the initial employees of Dayton’s Department Store until her retirement.

Lucinda enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her friends. She loved animals and had several pets throughout her life. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, baking and loved to travel and explore new places. She volunteered at her church and her daughter’s school.  She supported her children throughout their schooling by attending numerous sporting events and band and choir concerts. A highlight for Lucinda was when she and Russell chaperoned the St. Mary’s Central High School (Bismarck, ND) band tour to California.  .

Lucinda and Russell retired to a home on Lake Belle Taine near Nevis, MN. Lucinda’s greatest joy was her granddaughter, Kennedy; she cherished spending time with her and watching her grow up.

Lucinda is survived by her husband Russell (Curt). Nevis, MN; daughter, Lizabeth, Fargo, ND, daughter LeAnn (Mike) Hunke and granddaughter Kennedy, Glenwood, MD.  She is also survived by her sister Sheridon  (Dave) Lewis, Sabin, MN and her nieces and nephews.
