Marcellin "Marce" Sauvageau

Marcellin (Marce) O. Sauvageau, born January 30, 1933 in Horace, ND, son of Adrian and Annette (Rheault) Sauvageau, passed peacefully on October 14th, 2019. He grew up on a farm near Horace, ND and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Wild Rice. Marce took over the family farm and dairy, and continued farming until he retired at the age of 80. After retirement Marce continued to enjoy gardening, mowing his lawn, and working on antique tractors. In 1954 he married Barbara Stanley. Together, they raised 7 children, Gene (Brenda) Sauvageau of Horace, ND, James Sauvageau of Fargo, ND, Lee Sauvageau (deceased), Lois (Gary) Sommers of Walker, MN, Larry Sauvageau of Horace, ND, Kay (deceased) (Glenn) Rheault, Judy (Roel) Ronken of Osseo, MN, and two foster children Bonnie (Paul) Adams of Thompson, ND, and Larry (Sue) Gust of Stevensville, MT, 6 grandchildren, two foster grandchildren, four foster great-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Marce is survived by two sisters, Agatha (Ron) Kister of Sacramento, CA and Annella (Loren) Pfeifer of Cooperstown, ND and a brother, Jerome (Nancy-deceased) of Fargo, ND. Marce is preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy (Wally) Stetz, and Lydia (Abe) Cook, a son Lee Sauvageau, and a daughter, Kay Rheault. The Visitation is from 5pm-7pm with prayer service at 7pm on Wednesday, October 16th at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Wild Rice. The Funeral Mass is at 11am, Thursday, October 17th, 2019 also at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Wild Rice.
