Margaret passed away on Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 93. Margaret Morris was born on March 1, 1913, the daughter of William and Robina (Murdoch) Morris, in Yangsi Province, China. She lived there until the age of 6 when she moved with her family to Winnipeg, Canada. She grew up and received her education in Winnipeg. Margaret was united in marriage to Earl Cuthbertson on June 4, 1938 in Winnipeg. After their marriage they made their home on a farm near Amenia, North Dakota. They lived and farmed there until 1956 when they moved to Cummings, North Dakota. In 1973 they moved to Caledonia and to Hillsboro in 1989. Earl passed away in 1990. Margaret lived at the Hillsboro Kiwanis Housing from 1991 until entering the Hillsboro Nursing Home in 2005. For many years Earl and Margaret served as foster parents for many children. She worked as a Homemaker for the county for a number of years and also as Postmaster of Caledonia. Margaret was a member of the Cummings Free Church and later the Hillsboro United Parish, and throughout her life gave many talks on her life in China. Margaret is survived by her children, Morris (Onie) Cuthbertson of Weslaco, Texas; David (Kathy) Cuthbertson of Fargo, North Dakota; Barbara Skusa of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Gladys (Rick) Meiers of Stanley, North Dakota; Kathi Floberg of Hillsboro, North Dakota; and her daughter in law, Ella Cuthbertson of Weslaco, Texas. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her special foster son, Keith Ulland of Bloomington, Minnesota. Her parents; her husband, Earl; her son, Ronald; and 2 sisters and 2 brothers preceded Margaret in death.
