Margaret (Margie) Claire Pritchard, 90, Fargo, ND, and formerly Verona, ND, died on May 16, 2015. Margaret, the youngest of 9 children, was born July 31st, 1924 in Verona, ND, the daughter of James and Margaret (Powers) Kale. Margaret graduated from LaMoure High School in 1942. On November 3, 1943 she was united in marriage to Leo C. Pritchard. They made their home on a farmstead in the Verona area where they raised their 7 children. Margaret was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church and a charter member of the Jones-Benoit Legion Auxiliary. Family, faith, the farm and her friends best sum up her life. She was the most proud of her family and she leaves them with a legacy beyond measure. Margaret enjoyed gardening, baking, walking the country roads, listening to music (especially Daniel O’Donnel) and embroidery. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo of 53 years and their infant son. After her husband’s death, Margaret continued to live on the family farm, spending several winters in Oakes and Valley City. For the past 9 years, Margaret resided at Riverview Place, Fargo, ND, living there independently. She made many friends while there and dearly loved the staff, especially the devoted Sisters. She also enjoyed being closer to many of her grandchildren and children during these years. Margaret is survived by her children: Gwen (Bill), Milford, PA; Sandy (Jim), Fargo, ND; Leon, Fargo, ND; Clay (Terri), Solon, IA; Lynn, Bismarck, ND; Wayne (Lori), Verona, ND; Gerri (Brian), Minot, ND; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Guestbook

  1. I am so sorry. I’ll miss her phone calls and most of all her voice saying “hi Pam” Such a lovely aunt – I know my mom welcomed her with open arms!

  2. I was able to get to know my grandfather’s sister when she moved to Fargo. My mom and I would visit Aunt Margie and talk for what seemed like hours about the Kale family. I loved listening to the stories about that side of my mom’s family tree. Margie would look at me and say “I’m sure we’re boring you to tears with all this talk.” Quite the contrary would be my response every time and Margie would just shake her head and laugh at me. I’m sure she and my mom are visiting once again and laughing over the stories they are telling. I am honored and privileged to have known this fine lady…she will always hold a special place in my heart. My condolences to my cousins and their families.

  3. Lynn & Family; Mary & I are very sorry to hear of the death of your mother. Our thoughts & prayers go out to you and your family during this time of sorrow.

  4. Sorry to hear of Margaret’s passing. She was my father’s (Philip Thomas of LaMoure) first cousin. His mother was Belle Powers THOMAS, Margarets’ aunt. I reside in Tucson, AZ now and Margaret was my last relative in the LaMoure area. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.

  5. What a lovely lady who lived the life she enjoyed with her devoted husband, fine family and good fiends. It was always heartwarming to be with her as Margaret faced life with a joyous spirit. She was a beautiful, charming addition to our LHS Class of 1942!
