Marguerite F. Nelson

Marguerite F. Nelson, 87, of Atchison, KS, formerly of Fargo, died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Atchison Senior Village in Atchison, KS. Marguerite was born on May 7, 1918 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Edward and Lydia (Page) Matzke. She graduated from Hamlin University in St. Paul with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She worked as an executive secretary in the Agriculture Education Department of North Dakota State University. She was a board member of the Elim Lutheran Church, Ladies Circle and Altar Guild of the church, Swedish Society and Volk Sport, all of Fargo. She enjoyed gardening and visiting with friends. Marguerite married LaVerne Nelson on August 31, 1949 in St. Paul, MN. He preceded her in death in March 1993. She is survived by her daughters, Marcene (Jack) Selberg of Atchison, KS, Moira (Paul) Jackson of Hyattsville, MD; sister, Connie Danielzuk of St. Paul, MN; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Memorials are suggested to Elim Lutheran Church in Fargo. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Elim Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church and also on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
