Marlys Campbell

Marlys Campbell, 63, Enderlin, ND, died Thursday, January 30, 2003, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Marlys Sundvall was born August 21, 1939, at her parent's farm in Lake Eunice Township, Detroit Lakes, MN. She attended grades 1-6 at Maple Grove country school, and 7-12 at Detroit Lakes Junior and Senior High School in Detroit Lakes. She graduated in 1957. She married Maynard Anderson in 1957, and had three sons. She went to work at Sears in the credit department in 1969, and also worked briefly for Mandel's Ready to Wear in the credit department. She started working for Gate City Savings and Loan in 1973, and worked there for 10 years. In 1978, she married Ron Campbell at Sisseton, SD. Beginning in 1983, Marlys and Ron traveled south in the winters and stayed in North Dakota in the summers. They did this until 1990, at which time they bought a home in Streeter, ND. Marlys went to work for the Gackle Care Center and quit there when her husband got transferred to Edgeley, ND. They resided there for nine months and transferred to Ellendale, ND. Marlys then went to work for the Ellendale Civic Association and later worked for the City of Ellendale until her retirement on June 1, 2002. Marlys and her husband moved to Enderlin, ND, where they would be closer to their doctors in Fargo. Marlys is survived by her husband, Ron; three sons, Terry (Alda) Anderson, Ellendale, ND, Rick (Julie) Anderson, Horace, ND, and Randy Anderson, Jefferson City, MO; five grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, Blythe, Megan, and Samantha; one brother, Ken (Karla) Sundvall, Nevis, MN; two stepsons, Mark (Cathy) Campbell, Wichita, KS, and Greg (Heidi) Campbell, Little Rock, AK; and six step-grandchildren. Marlys was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 PM in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
