Marlys D Kjos

Marlys D (Rasmusson) Kjos, Age 73, died peacefully with her family present on May 14, 2009 at Bethany Homes after battling Alzheimer’s. She was born, March 22, 1936, to Earnest and Gladys (Erickson) Rasmusson of Ada Mn. She married Gene L. Kjos of Mayville, ND on June 5, 1954 and resided in Hillsboro, ND, Naytahwaush, MN, Leesburg, Fl, and currently Fargo, ND. She earned a Rural Teaching Certificate. She taught one year in rural school and started a kindergarten in her home. Her independent nature and her creativity prompted her to become a business women. She owned a Fabric Shop, Clothing Store, and was a Home Interiors Consultant. Actively involved in her Church and Choir, American Legion and VFW auxiliary (past-president of each organization), and member of the Hillsboro Civic and Commerce. She loved people and helping others. She is survived by her husband, and 5 daughters; Roni(James) Riske, Forest River, ND; Sherry(Ronald) Lusk, Fargo, ND; Rebecca(Keith) Williams, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Shawn(Ger) Reedyk, Clermont, FL; Marla(Hector) Diaz, New Braunfels, TX ; 13 grandchilden and 10 great grandchildren. Brother: Ronald (Shirley) Rasmusson; Sister Jovinae (Weldon) Herman, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents: Ernest & Gladys Rasmusson, sister & brother-in-law Joyce(Harry) MacNamar, brother: Lowell Rasmusson.
