Mary Ann Klosterman (Haberman), 78, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully at home under the care of Hospice on February 20, 2003, following a three year struggle with cancer. Born on March 9, 1924 to Carl and Ida Haberman, she was raised on a farm in the Barney, ND area. After marrying Harold J. Klosterman in 1946, they moved to Fargo where they raised seven children. Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who found great joy in the happiness and success of her family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and music, especially the performances of her children. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Church since 1952. Her strong faith and love of family were the most important aspects of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and many others but leaves behind a legacy of unselfish love and graciousness. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jo; son, Michael; and brothers, Julius, Lawrence, James, and Emeric Haberman. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harold; five children, Lawrence (Sandra) Klosterman, Davenport, IA, Julie (Don Bolgrean) Klosterman, Minnetonka, MN, Janet (Brian) Knowles, Midlothian, VA, Lisa (Waller Crenshaw) Klosterman, Lakeville, MN, and Amy Klosterman, Baltimore, MD; one sister, Adelaide Goerger, Wahpeton, ND; two brothers, Adolph Haberman, Wahpeton, ND, and Carl (Evelyn) Haberman, Mooreton, ND; nine grandchildren, Laura Riddle, Andrea and William Glaser, Allison Bolgrean, Matthew and Mackenzie Knowles, and Margaret, Aaron, and Andrew Crenshaw. She is also survived by James (Jeanette Liang.) Glaser, Houston, TX, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the nurses, caregivers, and volunteers of the Hospice of the Red River Valley, especially Lynn Kautz, for their caring assistance over the past two years, as well as the many friends, neighbors, and relatives who gave unselfishly of their time to help Mary Ann and her family through a difficult time. Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 28th, in Holy Spirit Church, Fargo Prayer Service 7:00 p.m. Friday Holy Spirit Church Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 1st Holy Spirit Church Burial Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo Memorials are preferred to the Fargo Catholic Schools Network and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
