Sister Mary Jo Hasey Sister Mary Jo Hasey, 86, a member of the Sisters of the Presentation, Fargo, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, in the infirmary at Sacred Heart Convent, Fargo. Sister Mary Jo was born July 31, 1922, in Langdon, North Dakota, the oldest of five children born to the late John and Frances Hasey, and received her early education at St. Alphonsus Grade and High School, Langdon. She entered Sacred Heart Convent in September of 1939, and received the name of Sister Mary Hilary. She made her first Profession of Vows in 1942 and her Final Profession in August 1945. Sister Mary Jo graduated from St. Catherine?s College, St. Paul, MN; in 1957 with a degree in Elementary Education. She also attended St. Scholastica?s in Duluth, MN; Loras College, Dubuque, IA; Valley City Teacher?s College; and Moorhead State University. She taught in Diocesan schools: St Mary?s, St. Anthony?s, Holy Spirit, Fargo, ND; St. James Academy, New Rockford, ND; St. Elizabeth?s School, Sykeston, ND and St. Alphonsus School, Langdon, ND. Sister Mary Jo was Librarian at St. Anthony?s School, Fargo, from 1975-1981 and worked in the Diocesan Education Office in Fargo from 1981-1984. Her last years were spent as Archivist at Presentation Center in Fargo. Sister Mary Jo is survived by the members of her religious Community; her brothers Father Adam Hasey, Oakes, ND, and Dr. Roger Hasey and his wife from Jamestown, ND and two sisters, Rita Mase, from Minneapolis and Betty Jones and her husband Mike, from Shelbyville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Frances Hasey. Visitation is Sunday, December 28, 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. The funeral is at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 29, at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel. In place of flowers, donations may be made to Presentation Sisters? Foundation. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home
