Mary Koslowske, age 79, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Eventide, Moorhead, MN. Mary Margaret Sargent was born on July 23, 1925 in Junction City, Kansas where she attended elementary and high school. During that time she helped her grandfather in his drugstore in Junction City and accompanied her father in weather observations. She was a natural teacher, and left St. John?s College in Winfeld, Kansas before graduating to teach in St. Louis, MO where she met Francis (Frank) Schupmann. Mary and Pastor Frank Q. Schupmann were married in 1949 and moved to Detroit Lakes, MN to serve St. John?s Congregation. They were blessed with five children before Frank died tragically by drowning in June 1954 near Ponsford, MN. Mary and her family moved back to Junction City to be near her parents. She was aided there by Bill Koslowske, a longtime friend of Mary and Frank?s. Bill and Mary were married in Junction City in 1963. They moved to Lincoln, Kansas where their daughter Jo Anna was born. The family lived in various places until they settled in Moline, Illinois. Shortly after Bill?s retirement in 1984, they moved to Grand Island, Nebraska where Jo Anna and her family lived. Mary and Bill moved to Moorhead in May of 2003 to stay with Jane?s family. She is survived by six children: Marie (Steve) Decker, Hannibal, Missouri; Philip (Sara) Schupmann, Aurora, Illinois; Zoe Khatibi, Chicago, Illinois; Jane (James) Hewitt, Moorhead, Minnesota; Jill Burk, Green Bay, Wisconsin; Jo Anna (Dave) Nuncio, Grand Island, Nebraska; 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Linden William (Ahn) Sargent, Rochester, New York. Memorials are preferred to the Library - Great Plains Lutheran High School of Watertown, SD. Visitation: Friday 4-6 p.m. - Boulger Funeral Home and Saturday in the church one hour before the funeral service. Funeral: Saturday 10 a.m. - Ascension Evangelical Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.
