Mary Horner Madsen, Fargo, ND died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Innovis Hospital.
Mary Horner was born on March 21, 1915 in Staples, MN, the daughter of George and Anna (Steichen) Horner. After graduating from Fargo Central High School, Mary worked one year and then attended North Dakota State Agricultural College (NDSU). She graduated in 1937 and taught school for two years in Brocket, ND. She married Eiler Madsen on October 15, 1940 at St. Mary?s Cathedral in Fargo, ND. They moved to Chaffee, ND. Eiler died in 1969. She moved to Fulda, MN in 1970 and taught in the high school for approximately 12 years. She retired in 1982 and moved back to Fargo. She moved to Riverview Place in 2000.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Gordon ?Jack? Horner and her sister Eloise Solsten.
She is survived by her sons, Paul Horner Madsen, Minneapolis, MN and Stephen Horner (LaRae) Madsen, Embden, ND; her daughters, Karen (John) Yoshihara, Seattle, WA, Eloise Anne Berg, Park Rapids, MN and Therese (Scott) Detmar, Hudson, WI; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
