Maryann Huschka Dukart, Fargo, died after a prolonged illness in her home surrounded by her loving family on July 25, 2003. Maryann was born on January 26, 1926 to Anton and Philipina (Wanner) Huschka in Dickinson, ND. She was raised on a small farm in South Heart, ND. She left school and finished her studies at home when her mother became ill. She spent many hours caring for her mother, the children, feeding field hands, and doing farm chores. When Maryann?s mother regained her health, Maryann became a schoolteacher. On January 20, 1948, Maryann married Steve Dukart. The ceremony took place at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in South Heart. They made their home in Dickinson, ND. Maryann did what she loved most, being a housewife and mother. It gave her time to be close to her children, plant her garden, sew, crochet and most important, spend time in prayer. After living in Dickinson, Maryann and her family moved several places, finally settling in Fargo in 1961. When Maryann?s children were grown, she took a very active role in the ARC. Her only son, Donald, born Down Syndrome, became her motivation. She worked diligently building the ARC Thrift Store into a very profitable business, with funding going to support various programs within the ARC. Training programs were started, equipment was purchased, jobs were created, etc., due to her endless efforts. People loved Maryann for her kind, gentle nature and above all for her reverence and respect for Our Lord. She attended daily Mass and was an angel on earth to many people. She will be dearly missed by her son, Donald Dukart; daughters, Stephanie (Earl) Seibold, Linda (Kerry) Sadowsky, and Angela (Michael) Stoltman; grandchildren, Cheri, Tiffany, Tracy (Bennie), Heidi (Patrick), Lonny (Amanda), Shaun (Sarah), Joshua (Michelle), and Justin; great grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Angelyn, Anthony, Emily, Isaac, Alex, Evan, Ethan, and and Aiden; sisters, Rose Krebs, Johanna Berger, Emerentiana (Anton) Krebs, Regina (Floyd) Nesper, Agnes (Michael) Krebs, Magdalene Ebenal and Bernadette (Thomas) Revis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve; parents, Anton and Philipina Huschka; brothers, Joseph and Leo Huschka and sister, Catherine. We loved you dearly sweet mother, grandma and grannie, but God?s love is even greater. He wanted you to come home.
