Mayvis V. Linderman, 78, Fargo, ND died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. Mayvis Victoria Westerlund was born in a 2 room farmstead near Kathryn, ND, on June 25, 1926. The only child of Rose and Peter Westerlund, they later moved into Nome, ND, where she graduated from High School. She then moved to Fargo and attended business college there. Upon graduation she worked as a secretary for a local law firm until marrying Allen Linderman of Carrington in November 1947. They farmed in the Barlow, ND area for the next 30 years. Their only child was born in 1953. Upon Allen?s retirement, the two enjoyed more extensive travel together. In 1983 Mayvis moved to Fargo after Allen?s death. Among her many hobbies, Mayvis enjoyed playing the piano, photography and painting. Much of her art was inspired by sights and scenes in the years of travel with her family. As one of Jehovah?s Witnesses, she dedicated herself also to a lifelong ministry and helping others through her faith. A loving wife and mother, she is survived by one daughter, Nancy [Scott] Kernan of Huntington Beach, CA, and two step granddaughters, Ann [Adrian] Hughes of Long Beach, CA, and Amy Kernan of Los Angeles. Mayvis was preceded in death by her husband and parents. The funeral for Mayvis will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004, at 2:00 PM at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo with Charles Wells officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Final resting will be in Carrington Cemetery; no graveside services. Arrangements with Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
