Melissa Hansen passed away on May 14, 2011 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND at the age of 39.
Melissa L. Wehler was born on April 15, 1972 in Carrington, ND to James and Connie (Harding) Wehler. Melissa and her family moved around while she was younger eventually settling in Harvey, ND, where she attended and graduated from high school. On May 31, 1997 she was united in Marriage to Paul Hansen. The couple has lived in the Fargo Moorhead area since 1990. In that time Melissa worked for Merit Care.
Melissa enjoyed traveling, reading books, and watching movies. She loved to spend time with family and friends
She is survived by her Husband Paul of Fergus Falls, MN; daughters Celia & Cadie; Parents Jim & Connie of Fergus Falls; Sister: Michelle (Brian) Oliphant of Fergus Falls; and Nephews: Issac, Luke, & Deacon Oliphant and Tanner Amundson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 4, at 2:00 PM at the Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Melissa. I had the privilege to get to know Melissa over the years at Meritcare (Cardiology) and as a friend. My heart aches for you, the family, as I know this will be one of the most difficult challenges in your lives. God is watching over…Melissa has gained her Angel wings and know that she will ALWAYS be watching over her girls and family. She was a proud mommy. Her smile will be forever in my mind’s eye. Melissa, friend, know that you are missed.

I remember the days when we were young. Melissa and my sister Angie were close friends and did everything together, especially in Colorado when we all lived there. I’m so honored to have met you Melissa and you will be greatly missed by all. May you be up in heaven, safe beside the maker of earth until we all meet again.

I just found out that Melissa passed away. I am so sorry for your loss.
My son and I got to know Melissa from our many visits to Merit Care where he received treatment and care for his failing heart. Melissa was such a wonderful person who was very kind and considerate in many stressful situations. She was very sweet to a scared little boy and his scared Mom. Each time Shane had to have an open heart sugery she was so helpful and made him smile through his tears. We will not forget you Melissa.
I am so sorry to hear of Melissa’s passing she will be truely missed. Everyone loved her. I knew Melissa when she worked at Meritcare and she was a wonderful person.

Mis will be forever missed and she will always be in my heart. We shared so many memories growing up and we always had the comfort of knowing we were there for each other. Throughout all of our moves during our childhood, we were always together. Mis was always so happy and she had a beautiful smile. Heaven gained a beautiful soul.
