I graduated high school with Mike, away back in 1967. We lost touch over the years but reconnected when he was working at the camera store in the Moorhead Center Mall. We had many good visits then. We then lost touch again when we heard that he was working in Grand Forks. Was so sad to hear of his passing – sending our thoughts & love to his family.

I remember working with Mike at Ritz, when he managed in Grand Forks and then as the district manager.

His knowledge of photography was great and better yet, was his ability to get along with people and share that knowledge and passion.

We are all better off for having known him. My prayers go with you.

Sorry to hear Buck has left. He and Michelle were the best bathroom mates back in the 70s when we lived on 7th Avenue. Buck was one of the best employees we hired at Plains Distribution where he did just about anything and everything — including taking quite a few photos for us. What a great guy. Seeing his picture here has brought back many memories of late nights talking. Although I have not seen him in years….perhaps decades…he comes up in conversation every year when I see people from back in that period of our lives. May the wind be at his back wherever he heads.

Fergus Falls I was so sorry to hear that Buck passed. Some of my fondest memories are of the year we spent at the cabin on Tonseth Lake (1974-1975). I have so many memories of Buck — some of the early photographs of our Sugarbush were taken by Mike. It was because of him that I got interested in photography. Some of my memories of time at the lake include working to start a frozen MG in the middle of winter:) Mike was an introspective guy and was relaxing to be around. I will miss him.

I met Buck, one of Mike’s aliases when he was driving sugar beet truck in ’74. Tom and I were working at the piler and had a lot of interaction with the drivers. The wittiest was Buck so his trips to unload were high points of the twelve hour shifts.
Since then, we’ve only been able to catch up on rare occasions but it was a treat to enjoy the wit and the rest of the conversation.
    He will be missed.

    Dear Michelle,
Just the other day we were talking about Plains, remembering Mike & you and others who worked there with us–and all the good times, so we were sorry to hear the sad news of his death. He was a wonderful man with many good qualities. He will be missed, but he will live in our hearts forever.

Our most sincerely sympathies to you and son Evin.

    With our love,
    Mark and Betsy
