Michael W. Cameron, 61, Fargo, ND died May 19th at Sanford Health surrounded by his family.
Michael was born December 2, 1953 in Duluth, MN to Walter and Eunice Cameron. He graduated from Carroll College in 1977 and went to work as a Special Agent for the IRS. He married Cheryl Hare on April 7, 1979 in Great Falls, MT. In 1983 they moved to Billings, MT and then to Bismarck, ND in 1989. Following retirement in 2003 they moved to Fargo, ND.
Mike was an avid golfer and runner. He enjoyed cheering on the Twins and Bison. He was an active member of St. Anthony’s parish. One of his greatest passions was his fight for the unborn, and he took on the fight with grace, wisdom, prayer, and perseverance. Mike was blessed with 4 grandsons. Carson, Declan, Bennett and Maddox were his guiding light and brought him such happiness and joy. On January 23, 2013 Mike was officially diagnosed with ALS. He took on the disease with grace, strength and an incredibly strong faith. A faith that was never shaken despite incredibly difficult symptoms of ALS.
Mike is survived by his wife of 36 years Cheryl, his daughter Amy Lee (Trevor), his grandsons Carson, Declan, Bennett and Maddox, 4 sisters Patty Cameron, Diane Dimich (Les), Mary Cameron and Beth Cameron, 4 brothers Paul Cameron (Dianne), Joe Cameron (Kim), Tom Cameron (Sara) and John Cameron and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Eunice Cameron, his daughter Cari and his brother William.
The family prefers memorial donations be made in Mike’s memory to the MDA (7401 Metro Boulevard, Suite 325, Edina, MN 55439) or a charity of your choice.
