Michael Hager, age 81, 23 South Woodcrest Drive, Fargo, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2004, in Fargo. Michael was born April 6, 1923, in Linton, ND, to Joseph and Katherine Hager. He grew up there and graduated from Linton High School in 1942. Michael enlisted in the Navy on November 30, 1942. He served in the Pacific theater and was discharged as Radarman 2nd Class on December 29, 1945. He married Freda Siegle on November 25, 1946, in Linton. He worked for Red Owl Store in Linton, ND, before he began work on construction for Northwestern Bell in 1948 at Linton. He became manager in 1952. He was transferred to Fargo in February 1955 as service foreman. He became plant manager in 1970. He retired in April 1983 at the age of 60. He is survived by his wife, Freda of Fargo; two sons, Michael (Kathy) of Fargo, and Dwight (Cynthia) of Edina, MN; one daughter, Annette Hager of Golden Valley, MN; three sisters, Jean McKenny and Ann Grenstiner, both of Bismarck, and Sally Pulver of Beulah, ND; and five grandchildren, Krista, Andrea, Michael, Lisa, and Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph Hager and Tony Hager; and one sister, Betty Van Horn. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fargo. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
