Michael Hermanson

Michael Layne Hermanson, age 21, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006 in Iraq. Michael L. Hermanson was born July 7, 1984 in Fargo, ND. He attended Horace Mann, Oak Grove, Ben Franklin, and graduated from Fargo North in 2002. He joined the Army National Guard as a senior year in high school and was attached to the 142nd Headquarters Unit. He attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO in 2002, then returned to Fargo and attended NDSU. He volunteered with the 164th Army Guard in Minot, ND. He was deployed to Iraq on November 12, 2005. He is survived by his parents, Layne and Lottie Hermanson, Fargo; his sister Lindsey, Fargo, ND; his brother, Aaron J. Mittleider, Bismarck, ND; and his grandparents, Don and Betty Liebelt, Belle Fourche, SD; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins across the country. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Karl and Coyla Hermanson, Columbus, ND. Memorials are preferred to the Michael Hermanson Memorial Fund.
