Monte Thoreson

Monte Thoreson Fargo, North Dakota Monte passed away on June 12, 2008 at his home in Fargo at the age of 81. Monte was born on April 11, 1927 in Moorhead, MN, the son of Roy and Elizabeth (Nelson) Thoreson. He grew up in this area and later moved to Seattle, WA with his family. He returned and graduated from Moorhead High School. Monte proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. After his discharge he returned to this area and was united in marriage to Eunice Chelgren in Moorhead. The made their home in Moorhead and later in West Fargo for a number of years. Monte was united in marriage to Jean Jones on March 8, 1968. The made their home in Fargo where he worked for Walden?s, Regal?s, and Rott Keller. During retirement Monte also worked for Love-it Furniture and was a golf ranger. He also was past commander of the West Fargo VFW. Monte is survived by his wife, Jean of Fargo; his children, Kay Thoreson of Fargo; Jim (Carol) Thoreson of Fargo; Scott (Gwen) Thoreson of Springfield, MN; Barb (Jim) Pritchard of Hawley, MN; and Karen (Kent) Henrickson of Ulen, MN; 10 grandchildren; step sons, Dennis (Charlene) Jones of Bismarck, ND; and Keith Jones of Portland, OR; step grandchildren, Timothy and Natalie Jones. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:30 PM Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.
