The Angels and Saints in Heaven are celebrating and welcoming a beautiful child of God. Murray McManus, 48, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, at home. He had been battling metastatic colon cancer the last year and a half. These last few weeks, he has taught those around him the strength of faith and the wonder of grace in the face of such adversity. Murray was born on May 5, 1959, in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Dilworth, MN. Following high school graduation there, he attended Moorhead State University. Over the years he worked for medical instrument and equipment companies, Gaffaney?s, Home Maker?s Villa, Maytag, Stryker, Synthes Spine. They had three beautiful children: Matthew, Megan and Macey, who filled Murray?s days with unforgettable joy. Murray was an active ball-player and an avid hunter, fisherman and best ?lefty? golfer to hit the links. Murray and his family have been active over the years at Nativity Church and the Fargo Catholic Schools. He was recently inducted into the Shanley Athletic Club Hall Of Fame. He was involved in Nativity?s ?Christ renews his parish? faith renewal group. This group at Nativity gave him love and support during his illness. He leaned on his faith and a loving family during these last few months. In his life, he taught us how to love and laugh. In his death, we learned about courage, grace and the beauty of a life well-lived. As Murray always said, ?I?m living the dream.? He did.
