Myrtle Adina Ackerman, age 96, 661 3rd Avenue East, West Fargo, ND, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 in the Palliative Care Unit, MeritCare Hospital.
Myrtle Bystedt was born January 28, 1908, rural Bowbells, ND, to David and Tillie (Thompson) Bystedt. She attended Bystedt Rural School and Bowbells High School. She married Nick Ackerman on October 20, 1926 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kenmare, ND.
Myrtle and Nick farmed in Bowbells Township until Nick died in 1965. Myrtle continued to live on the farm during summers and wintered at Watford City, ND and West Fargo, ND until moving to Williston, ND in 1994. Myrtle was employed in the healthcare profession in Fargo and Watford City.
She enjoyed dancing, golf, bowling, traveling, planting flowers, playing cards, and family and friends. She was a member of St. Joseph?s Altar Society and St. Joseph?s Choir, Bowbells, ND golf league, bowling league, and Homemakers Club.
Myrtle is survived by her daughters, Sharon Menschel of West Fargo, ND and LaDonna (Reiny) Pfeifer of Williston, ND; sister Helen Bystedt of Seattle; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nick; son-in-law Dwayne; her sister Hilda and brothers Oscar and Karl.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorials are preferred.
