Neil Burkhart

Neil Wilbur Burkhart, Sr., 76, of West Fargo, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, at his home.
Neil was born on May 10, 1939, in Fargo to Nora (Dallmann) and Lee Burkhart. He grew up in Casselton, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956 and was stationed at Fort Kobbe, CZ, Panama until 1958. He married Rosemary Jean Mileski in Sisseton, So. Dak., on April 29, 1962. They had four children; Connie, Neil, Jr., Nancy, and Jane.
Known as “Jaws” to his friends, his passions in life were many. Neil loved to hunt, fish, watch wild life, grow tomatoes (too many tomatoes), make deer sausage, fry fish, smoke all meats, play Texas Hold ’em, listen to Country music, and he really liked to watch TV, especially Jeopardy.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Clara Sauvageau.
He is survived by daughters Connie Burkhart, St. Paul, Minn.; Nancy Burkhart and Jane Burkhart, Fargo; son Neil, Jr. Burkhart, West Fargo; and grandson Keith Burkhart, West Fargo; siblings Eunice Lovell, Hawley, Tex.; Hazel “Zee” Francis, San Bernardino, Calif.; Dale (Sharon) Burkhart, Bellefourche, So. Dak.; Inez Muellenbach, Clear Lake, Minn.; Wayne Burkhart, Davenport; Audrey Burkhart, Zephyrhills Hills, Flor., Nina (Kevin) Kohler, Longville, Minn.
Wake 5:30–9 p.m. Wednesday at Rick’s Bar, Fargo (minors are welcome until 7:30). Celebration of life 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Visitation 10–11 a.m. Lunch following service. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one.My grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heger, lived just down the street from there house on the corner. I kind of remember all of the family. I was younger then most of the family, but do remember play hop scotch out in front of my Grand Parents big house. I remember Dale most, as he was the Police Chief and went hunting rabbits at night with the siren on going across a field. Again my deepest Sympathy
