The Funeral Service for Nennor Nelson will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Norway Lutheran Church rural Cummings, North Dakota. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 5 PM in Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Thursday. Burial will be held in the Norway Church Cemetery. Nennor died on Monday, April 7, 2003, at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo at the age of 78. Nennor was born on July 20, 1924, at Taft, North Dakota, the son of Nennor and Julia (Johnson) Nelson. He attended school in Norway Township and graduated from Hillsboro High School. He married Dorothy Kamphaug Ramberg on April 5, 1952. He served in the United States Navy, followed by service in the National Guard. They farmed for 28 years in the Cummings area. In 1974 they bought the Coast to Coast store, later changed to Trustworthy Hardware. They retired in 1992. Nennor was a member of Norway Lutheran Church, rural Cummings. He was also a member of the Eagles and the Sons of Norway. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin and Marvin; his son, Michael; and one great grandchild, Logan Renner. Nennor is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy of Hillsboro; his sons, Jim of Chaska, Minnesota; and Richard of Bowman, North Dakota; his step daughters, Diane (Gary) Weber of Fargo; and Sherry (Harold) Bodden of Binford, North Dakota; ten grandchildren; and five great grand children. He is also survived by two sisters in law, Cecelia Nelson of Hillsboro; and Nancy Nelson of Cummings. (Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro)
