Norman Gregory Kenney, 84, Fargo, ND, passed away on April 19, 2016 at ManorCare, Fargo.
Norman Gregory Kenney was born April 1, 1932 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Norman and Elizabeth (Flynn) Kenney. He joined the Air National Guard at age 17 as an aircraft mechanic and following discharge, he returned to, and graduated from Shanley High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Mardelle Paulson on July 3, 1954. From this marriage he had four children: Gregory, Maureen, Colleen and Shawn. On June 22, 1973, he married Sharon Hadrava. Norm spent over 20 years with the Air National Guard and also had his own appliance repair business where he worked for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; four children: Gregory (Joan) Kenney, Pensacola, FL; Maureen (Tim) VonGlahn, Shreveport, LA; Shawn (Kathy) Kenney, Bethany, LA; and Colleen Branby, Phoenix, AZ. Step-children: Ann Marie (Craig) Boisjolie and Mark (Rachelle) Hadrava; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters: Patricia Sletmoe, Mary Jarisch; brothers: Robert (Joyce) and Larry; and many nieces and nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Wallace.

We’re so sorry to see this in the paper today. Norm was a wonderful worker who helped us with our family budget for many years. Even though other businesses would tell us to get rid of our refrigerator, stove, washer, and dryer, Norm would always check them out and fix them up like new. We really appreciated his work and his humor. Our sympathies to all of his family, who we did not know – but we felt like we knew you, because he talked about you all with fondness.
To all of Norms family I send deepest sympathy for your loss. He and Sharon used to live across the street from me and my family and we too had him over to repair and save several of our appliances. He was a good man and good neighbor. He will be missed by many.

Norm, you are, where you wanted to be. Hey, are Angels as fast as those jets? We will miss your physical presents but, will not forget you on Tuesday nights. Mama will miss you too. I’ll give her a hug as ordered! Looking for some guidance from you, but we never really agreed, so this will be interesting. Love ya buddy, rest in peace! You know Norm, there are a infinite amount of white robs to take care of, so don’t screw up the washers and dryers.
I am very lucky to have gotten to know Norm, he was the best! I am praying for Sharon and your family.
Norman was a great man and great friend! He fixed several of our appliances throughout the years.
We visited him several times in the nursing home. He also stopped out at our home to visit when he was in the area. Couldn’t ask for a better friend! We will surely miss him! Our sympathy to his family! May his memories and Gods Love surround you at this difficult time!

I knew Norm for many years, as we were both working in the appliance repair business. I often saw Norm at the parts suppliers and several other places. Norm will be missed. I only learned of Norm’s death yesterday, so I can only offer late condolence. Mark Helfter
