Olaf T. Aho, age 86, 5300 12th Street South, Apt. 408A, Fargo, ND 58103, died Sunday, February 6, 2005 in the Pallative Care Unit, MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Olaf T. Aho was born March 4, 1918 in Superior, Wyoming. His family moved to Minneapolis when he was a child. He grew up there and graduated from North High School, Minneapolis, in 1936. He worked as a watch maker in Minneapolis for a time. He enlisted in the U. S. Coast Guard and served from August 15, 1941 to August 20, 1946. He was a cook and was stationed in Eugene, Oregon. After his discharge from the Coast Guard, he returned to Minneapolis. Olaf and Helen A. Lund were married August 13, 1949 in Northwood, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. degree in 1950. He worked for Fort Snelling as a civil service employee. The couple made their home in Minneapolis for 9 years. They then moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where he worked at F. E. Warren Air Force Base as a Position Classifier. He then worked at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. They returned to Minnesota, living in Brooklyn Center. He retired in 1964, after 20 years of service. They moved to Fargo in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his daughter, Ellen Aho and son-in-law Richard Gilmore, Moorhead, MN. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elma Lukkarvilla.
