Orville ?Red? Knudson, 81 of Fargo, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at Innovis Health in Fargo.
Orville was born on November 23, 1926 in Harvey, ND to Carl and Josephine (Hanson) Knudson. He attended school in Harvey and then served in the US Army during WWII. Following his discharge in 1946, he received mechanical training at Hanson Trade School in Fargo and was a member of Local 49 Operating Engineers, working on the Garrison Dam in 1949. On November 3, 1949 he married Pauline Grossman in Underwood, ND. He worked for Western Steel Erectors for 27 years, retiring in 1989. Orville was a wonderful mechanic and loved to do mechanical work for friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clayton.
Orville is survived by his wife, Pauline of Fargo; children, Allen (Patricia) of Casselton, ND, Dean (Connie) of Fargo, Deb (Jim) Plueger of Lake Benton, MN, Dave of Gardner, ND, Tim (Jill) of Sartell, MN; 14 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Lila Martin of Harvey, ND and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Thursday, November 13 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home,
Fargo and also one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday.
Prayer Service: Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass: Friday, November 14 at 2:30 pm at Church of the Nativity,
Interment: Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo.
