Patrick H Overmann, 88, of Riverview Place, Fargo, died Saturday, October 2, 2004. Patrick was born to Joseph A. and Agnes (Weigand) Overmann near Petersburg, Iowa on September 18, 1916. He married Esther M. Schmitz in Long Beach, CA on October 3, 1942. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the Army Corps of Engineers in the European Theater. He worked at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 27 years, retiring in 1985. He also was a welding instructor for Hawkeye Institute of Technology for many years. He moved to Fargo, ND in 2001. Patrick enjoyed hobbies of gardening and metalworking for many years. He was an avid reader and a life-long learner. The last three years of his life he enjoyed activities and friendships at Riverview Place, especially the Men?s Club every Friday. Those who shared in his life are his wife of 62 years; two sons, Gordon (Becky) of Omaha, NE; Bob (Mary) of Fargo ND; one daughter, Mary (Bob) Coleman of Harmon, IL; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Overmann of Champaign, IL, Scott (Leesa) Overmann of Dallas, TX; Amanda Overmann of Lincoln, NE; LeeAnn (Steve) Kollmorgen of McCook, NE; Ben (Claire) Overmann of Alexandria, VA; Jed Overmann of St. Paul, MN, and Leslie and Shelby Coleman of Harmon, IL; and one sister, Mary McCardle of Independence, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Helen Shannon and Melda Kruse, and three brothers, Ray, Joe and Frank. A prayer service will be held at Riverview Place, Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 7 PM. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday in Riverview Place. Mass of Christian Burial and internment will be in Waterloo, Iowa on Friday, Oct. 8. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
