Paul “Uncle Paul” R. Johnson, 69, Fargo, ND died Thursday, December 2, 1010 in his home.
Paul was born January 1, 1941 in Valley City, North Dakota to Lydia & Arthur T. Johnson. The first baby born in Barnes County. The family moved to Fargo when Paul was two. He attended Agassiz School from 1st grade thru the 9th grade. He graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1958. He attended NDSU briefly before moving to St. Paul, MN. He played the violin in the FM Symphony Orchestra. He joined the Navy in 1964 and served on numerous ships in many areas all over the world. Their duty during the Vietnam War was to pick up downed pilots but not to engage in fighting. He obtained the rank of Senior Chief. Following his service he moved to his lake home on Round Lake, MN. He worked for Zorbaz on Ottertail Lake. He moved to Fargo where he managed the Heritage House for a brief time, then worked at NDSU in maintenance.
Paul enjoyed being with people and could converse with all ages.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arthur T. Jr. and Garfield and a sister, Loretta Sheppard
He is survived by two sisters, Wanda Beattie , Ashville, Ohio and Angie (Art) Jore, Fargo, ND; and one brother Erle Johnson of Frisco, TX. and many nieces and nephew.
