Paulette Adkins

Paulette Joann Nipstad Adkins, 68, Wasilla, AK passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 3, 1947 to Paul Pate and Shirley Hanson in Seattle, WA. In 1952 Shirley married Arnold Nipstad and the couple raised their children on a farm outside of Kindred. Paulette graduated from Kindred High School in 1965. Following graduation, she moved to Seattle where she worked at Boeing. Paulette moved to Toppenish, WA where she met the love of her life, Bob Adkins. The couple was united in marriage on May 28, 1975. They moved to western Washington in 1980 and remained there until 2003 when Bob and Paulette moved to Alaska. She worked at Fred Meyer’s Grocery Store as a meat wrapper from 2000 until her retirement in 2012. Paulette enjoyed cooking and baking, always trying out new recipes and making up her own. She was an animal lover since her childhood on the farm and as an adult, she adored her pets. Spending time with friends and family was very important to her and she loved hosting get-togethers and cooking for the people close to her. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bob; stepchildren, Tammy Lynn (Vern) Ringhouse, Pamela Jean (Terry) Ringhouse, Robert Clyde (Trish Olhsen) Adkins, Annette LaVon (Frank) Garris, Nicole Lee (Scott) Wright, all of Washington; siblings, Dennis (Alicia) Nipstad; Mark (Sandy Hall) Nipstad; and Annette (Barry) McNeal; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Angel, Izzy, and Emmy Sue. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Keith Nipstad. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society
