Peggy Jacobson

Peggy Y. Jacobson, 83, Fargo passed away very peacefully Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Kindred Hospital, Fargo.
Peggy was born May 3, 1929 in Bowman, North Dakota. She attended and graduated High School in Valley City, North Dakota. On June 23, 1947, she married James Jacobson. Jim and Peggy made their home in several North Dakota towns before settling with their family in Fargo in 1964. Although Peggy didn’t have a career outside the home, she was committed to raising her family and providing a home with a solid foundation from which her children could grow. Peggy was also involved in many charitable and church organizations throughout the years.
She is survived by her four sons, Steven, Rapid City, SD, Paul (Toni), Williston, ND, Tim (Joni), Tulsa, OK, Dan (JoAnne), Fargo, ND; two daughters, Cynthia (Lynn) Remsing, Arlington, TX, Barb (Dana) Ivers, Des Moines, IA; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Jim and her parents Frank and Ruth Getchell.

I miss you so much grandma! Thank you for all the sleepovers and bedtime stories. You loved us all unconditionally. I will forever be grateful for every phone call, lunch and holiday we had together. Thank you for being an amazing grandmother.

Reno NVPeggy and I were friends from Girl Scout days through junior high and VCHS. As adults, we saw each other just about every year when I was at our lake cottage. She was such a special, non-judgmental person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Placentia CAI played sports with Jim and studied with Peggy @ Valley City High School. We stayed in touch throughout the years and had good times at Lucy’s [Merrett] lake Melissa cottage. Fond memories for “days gone by”

So sorry to hear of Peggy’s death. I was one of her classmates in high school. My maiden name is Grotberg. She was such a fun and loving person, had so many friends and she and Jim made a wonderful pair. I never met any of her children, however.
The last time I saw her was at our last ALL FORTIES REUNION in 2000. Class of 1947.

It is with much sadness that we send our sympathy in the death of Peggy. Peggy and I have been like sisters since the 2nd grade. I will truly miss our phone calls each birthday and Christmas and a few in between. Her memory will live in my heart, as I pray it will in all of yours.
