Philip died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Sanford Health Palliative Care in Fargo surrounded by his family.

He grew up and went to school in this area. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1948 until his discharge in 1952. Philip was very active in the American Legion and the Parker’s Prairie Lions Club for many years. He loved gardening, golfing, and cherished time spent with his family. In 1997, Philip and Marian moved to Fargo to be closer to their family. They joined Elim Lutheran Church and loved the many friends they made at their new church home in Fargo.

  1. Detroit Lakes mnMarian and Family,
My sincere sympathy on the passing of your husband and father.

I had the priviledge of knowing Phil through my employment for many years as Director of the RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), of which both Phil and Marian were devoted volunteers. They were very generous with their time in helping those that needed transportation to medical appointments throughout Otter Tail County.

Phil had a smile that would warm anyone’s heart. It will be truly missed.

My thoughts are prayers are with all of you today and in the coming days.

    Sincerely,

    Katie Baril
