Raymond Berg Hawley, Minnesota formerly of Hillsboro, North Dakota Raymond Berg, age 83, passed away on April 12, 2009 at his home at the Hawley Senior Living Center in Hawley, MN, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Raymond was born on May 11, 1925, in Ulen, MN, the son of John and Julia (Skeim) Berg. He was raised in the Ulen ? Twin Valley area, attended school and worked on the family farm. Ray entered the United States Army and served in Japan during WWII. After his discharge he returned to the family farm. Ray moved to Hillsboro, ND in February 1966 and was united in marriage to Barbara Power on March 19, 1966 in Hawley. They made their home in Hillsboro where he worked for Farmer?s Union Oil Company as Tire Foreman for 22 years. He retired in April of 1987 and then worked part time for the Hillsboro Park Board, the Traill County Water Board, and Olsen?s Hardware. Ray loved to go for walks and speak Norwegian. His beloved wife, Barbara passed away on January 26, 2003. In October of 2005, Ray moved to Hawley Senior Living. Ray is survived by his children, Sharlene Rohrich of Moorhead, MN; Steve Berg of Jamestown, ND; Sherry (Jesse) Ford of West Fargo, ND; and Stacy (Scott) Bauer of Bismarck, ND; his grandchildren, Amanda and Cody Rohrich; Krista and Emily Ford; and Logan and Claire Bauer. Also surviving are his sister, Gladys (Ilo) Bentley of Hawley; his brother, Judien Berg of Hawley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer, Odin, and Harvey; and his sister, Evelyn.
