Raymond Roger Olson, age 66, of Fargo, ND passed away on January 2, 2014 at his home at New Horizons Manor. 

Raymond was born on September 13, 1947 to Bennie and Margaret (Elliott) Olson of Thief River Falls, MN.  He attended school in Canada, Detroit Lakes, MN, Fergus Falls, MN and Okanagan College in Armstrong, BC, Canada.  Raymond struggled with some developmental disabilities, but was very proud when he completed his GED when he was in his fifties. 

Raymond enjoyed his years of employment at various businesses.  His earliest career was being a newspaper carrier.  He also worked at a Thrift Store helping with stocking and packaging.  He also worked at a carpentry shop constructing small pieces of furniture. 

Raymond’s love of his life was his music and movie collections.  He had a large collection of classic TV shows and old movies.  He collected and loved the country western music of the 1930’s and the 1940’s.  He loved singing and knew hundreds of songs by heart.   He loved an audience and would sing any of his favorite songs at people’s request. 

Raymond spent his life living in Thief River Falls, Canada and Fargo.  He made many life-long friends along the way.  He loved to visit with people and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the music industry.   He attended Fargo Baptist Church and had made many new friends there. 

Raymond is survived by his brother, Richard (Elva) of Canada, nieces, Charlynn and Lanita and one nephew, John.  Also survived by his Uncle and Aunt, Robert and Shirley Elliott of Moorhead.  His cousins, Ron (Jill) Elliott, Vicky (Dan) Osowski, Jim (Arika) Elliott, Deb (Ellis) Aakre, Mike (Cami) Elliott, Bill Elliott and Marvin (Elsie)  Elliott. 

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Margaret (Elliott) Olson, and his Aunt and Uncle, Burt and Maxine Elliott.
